Criteria for enlarged breast
Criteria for large breasts varies depending on the individuals physical condition; an ideal breast should have volume of about 250~300cc (one breast) generally. If it is over 400cc, it can be classified as a large breast and the oversized breasts can cause problems in the neck; back and spine; as the breast has sagged, it can cause skin diseases like eczema due to sweating.

Surgical Method
Vertical incision
Common method for most cases regardless of breast size.
After incision is made, about 4~5cm is vertically incised to remove breast tissues.
Advantages
- Smaller scarring than the 'O' shaped incision
- Advantaged of areola and 'O' shaped incision is combined
- It is also effective for a badly big breasts.
- It is also effective for breast correction by reducing the skin under the chest.
- You can make a round and rich breast shape compared to other surgical methods.
- Breastfeeding is possible after surgery and the sensation of the nipple area is preserved.
Areola Incision
Right method if the breast is not very large nor sagged.
If the breast is severely large, there will scarring around the areola and limited amount of reduction.

- Effective when the breast is severely large and the amount of sagging is large
- Increases skin elasticity to the sagged breast
- Scaring may remain as the incision length is long; it will fade away and will be hidden in the crease line.
Fat removal
A method where fat is removed to reduce the breast size through liposuction.
It is effective on breast that has not sagged and has good skin elasticity.
Advantages
- No scarring on the area of reduction.
- Satisfactional size reduction with no worries.
- Effective on breasts that has mild asymmetrical breasts.
Precautions after surgery
- A light shower can be done after 48 hours of operation. (It is not good if you are immersed in the water or in a hot environment.)
- Depending on individual differences, it can cause swelling and bruising. Do not bend your head or bow when sleeping; use 2~3 pillows to make 20~30 degree upper body. This will help prevent swelling and pain.
- During the first week after operation, the arm should not be raised over 90 degrees and it is best to lift heavy objects or to act on your arms.
- From 2 weeks after surgery, light exercise like jogging is possible.
- Drinking and smoking after surgery can slow down the healing and should be avoided for 3~4weeks. Be careful of strong trauma during recovery.
